I think you are one of the greatest actors in the world. You are definitely the best actor on American television. your performances in "Time Bandits" 'The Bride" & on "The Young Ones" were incredibly wonderful, & you have worked with the masters of comedy. Even your serious acting is great.
My friends & I like your new show "The Wizard" too. We also wonder why did you ever go on to American television? American television is so boring, so dull a lot like Channel 4. I hope you go back to British comedy.

Hi, I think you're the greatest! I've been a fan of yours since the first time I seen you on the Time Bandits. I've seen it 20 times so far. And now, I can see you every week on the Wizard. Since it came on I haven't missed it. I love your show! I'd like to know how much of you is in your character Simon? It don't seem like you're acting, just, you know, being you.

Thank you for bringing screen "life" to the character of Simon McKay. Simon's gentle strength, unrelenting optimism & unwavering belief in the power of imagination made me smile on a day when I was feeling particularly kicked in the dreams. His essential balance helped me bring even my silences back into tune.
Yet the magic of Simon's smile & the telling concern in the creases of his eyes could never be written into a script; they are the gift of the actor, grounded in the radiant humanity of the man behind the role.
Please don't ever let your craft become stale or mechanical for you. It makes us all the richer.

I really like "The Wizard" and your role in it. I also enjoyed you in "Time Bandits".
I read an article about you where they said you were a teacher. You are very talented.
You were a very good contestant on "Hollywood Squares". It must be fun to be on a game show that has comedy, too.
Keep up the good work.

I noticed that you have a number of posters & bumper stickers - which I saw in one of your shows a number of weeks ago. I would like to purchase a number of these items, would you please send me them &/or a order form please!
The Wizard has been moving around - Tuesdays & now Thursdays at 8pm. I sure hope that your show continues for a number of years - I really enjoy it! I don't watch T.V. much but I look forward to your show each week!
"Time Bandits" was the movie in which I first saw David Rappaport, "The Fall Guy" with Douglas Barr, & I believe "The Flying Nun" for Fran Ryan besides her Cool Whip roles!
Thank you for a super show & I hope to see you all for many years on The Wizard.

I have never written or wanted to write a letter to an actor or other noted personality. But, for reasons I cannot explain, I feel compelled to send you this letter.
I knew I had seen you before when I watched "Time Bandits".
My seven year old son, Aaron, & I differ occasionally on viewing preferences, but we always agree on watching "the Wizard". If you were a black belt in karate you would be his ultimate hero. Like so many children, he has "Karate Kid" fever! So far now you share his admiration with Pat Morita.
When "The Wizard" first aired on Tuesdays I kept missing episodes. I work every other Tuesday evening. On one Tuesday I was dismayed to find that it was preempted, by a "Charlie Brown" rerun no less! Don't get me wrong, I like Charlie, but couldn't it have bumped "Dallas" & "J.R."!? The next week I tried in vain to find it on the Tuesday night lineup. I almost panicked, but further scanning of the T.V. Guide found you safe & sound on Thursday evenings. Now I know Bill Cosby is a tough act to air against, but he doesn't have a chance in this house.
The rating game has always puzzled me. How can a small handfull of viewers respresent the preferences of the entire viewing population? I'm sure it has it's positive side, but I don't feel it accurately reflects what the majority of the population watches. After all they have never asked me!
You are doing a fantastic job! You are an extremely talented man & I look forward to seeing you in even more endeavors. The Wizard is a wonderful series & I hope it runs for as long as you wish it to. (Several years would be nice!)
It is encouraging to see a program where the hero (that's you) can solve the problem at hand using his intelligence rather than man-made weapons of violence. I believe you are probably very much like Simon. He is very intelligent, kind, gentle, witty & thoughtful (not to mention cute). Surely a person must possess those attributes to aptly convey them to an audience.

We really love the character you've created in "the Wizard".
I just had to write & let you know we never miss it; even my husband likes it & he doesn't care for much T.V.
Janine, my daughter, 8 years old, loves the toys on the show. (I have to say I do too.)
Our favorite ending on your show, so far, was with the robot seeing eye dog. It was great. The ghost story was pretty good too. All the shows are good.
I haven't written a fan letter since I was a teenager & "Star Trek" was being first run.
Thank you for a show our whole family can & does enjoy.

I really enjoy "the Wizard". I think it's one of the best new shows this season. The first night "The Wizard" was on my family & I thought we would see what it was. We liked it right away. I've been a fan since.
We also like Doug Barr & Fran Ryan. They are just right for their parts & "Alex" & "Tillie" are very likeable companions for "Simon". In fact my mother seems to see some resemblance between you & Fran Ryan. She said you could play "mother & son" or "brother & sister" or something like that.
I will admit before "the Wizard" I had never heard of you. But since the series began I've noticed at least 3 movies you were in. "Sword of the Valiant" "Time Bandits" & "The Bride". I may not have heard of you before "the Wizard" but now I'm a fan of yours.
I understand CBS is going to continue "The Wizard" for the rest of the season. I hope it comes back next season. I hope it will be on for some time to come.

We have two girls - one is 9 years old, the other is 13, & they look forward to your show as much as their parents do.

My daughters asked me to write to you for very different reasons. Erin Grace, age 5, adores you, mostly because you have a talking giraffe. She loves the way you try to shut him up, mostly she likes you because of your personality.
Heather, just turned 8, finds hope in you. She is often tormented & made fun of at school, but she finds strength in you. Your "never give up" attitude really impresses her, you have really helped her. Thank you for your example.
P.S. Please tell CBS to stop pre-empting your show & to pick on someone else.

I watched, for the first time, your show 'Wizards". I gotta tell you the two guest stars Billy Drago & Silvana Gallardo were very intense. I've never seen the kind of kiss & chemistry between two people on TV like that before.
Can you tell me if they will be on again? Or what else they will be in? I particularly liked Silvana. Her character really seemed to care, you know.
Anyway it seems like there should be more realism like that on TV.
Hopefully there will be.
